Our two-day Trail Running Introduction is perfect for anybody looking to go trail running and feel more confident planning and following unmarked routes. You will learn how to plan a journey, what equipment and clothing you need, how to navigate using maps and apps - you will also receive coaching and loads of handy tips to improve your running form.
COURSE CONTENT
- Clothing and footwear.
- Navigation - using maps, apps and gpx.
- Running packs - running vest vs running pack.
- Technical tips - Moving over uneven terrain with confidence, ascending and descending.
- Hydration - soft flasks, water bladder and where to find water.
- Nutrition - how much to eat, best foods for running etc
- Going to the loo outdoors - toilet etiquette and where to go.
- Running poles - technique and where to use them.
- Emergency Skills - Essential safety kit and how to call for help.
Typically this course meets in Conwy on the first day and Capel Curig on the second day. Both offer their own very different and exciting types of running terrain.
ABILITY LEVEL
You don't need to be the fastest or the best runner to attend this course just some previous running experience and the ability to run 10km at a steady pace. We won't be running fast and instead focus on giving you a great experience with plenty of rest along the way and the opportunity to take pictures, relax and enjoy your time with us. It is also a fantastic way to get out running and learning with likeminded runners!
